¶ Migrate from Shopify's Geolocation
Welcome to our guide on seamlessly transitioning from Shopify's Geolocation app to Blaze Geolocation Redirect.
On March 24, 2025, Shopify’s Geolocation app will be sunset, and the app will be uninstalled from shops that have it installed. For more details, visit the official announcement.
This guide will take you through each step to make your migration to Blaze as smooth and simple as possible.
¶ 1. Installing Geolocation Redirect Blaze in Your Shopify Store
To get started, go to the Shopify App Store and search for Blaze Geolocation Redirect. Click "Install app" and follow the prompts to integrate Blaze Geolocation Redirect with your Shopify store.
Once installed, select a plan that fits your needs.
After installation, you’ll see an onboarding process designed to give you a quick overview of Blaze's features and guide you in configuring geolocation settings for your store. Click on 'Customize popup' to enter the Shopify Theme Editor.

¶ 2. Enable & Customize Blaze Geolocation App Embed
In Shopify Theme Editor's App Embed settings, Turn the toggle ‘Geolocation Popup’ ON.
With Blaze, you can personalize the geolocation popup to fit your store’s theme and unique requirements.

Once you’re happy with the customization, you can enable it by:

Disabling the "Test mode," which is active only while in the Shopify Theme Editor for customization.

Ensuring the Geolocation Popup app embed is enabled, then click "Save."
¶ 3. Disable & Uninstall Shopify's Geolocation App
After Blaze is set up, disable and uninstall Shopify’s Geolocation app to avoid any overlap in recommendations.
This will allow Blaze to fully manage geolocation features in your store, ensuring your customers enjoy a smooth, localized shopping experience.
